Scope

Create a new external shared network. Create a new project network and attach it to the public network.

Objectives

In this lab you will be creating a new external shared network. You will also be creating a new project network with subnets and attaching it to the new external network. Lastly you will delete the network.

Overview

In this lab you will be creating a new external shared network and creating a new project network with subnets and attaching it to the new external network in both the command-line and in the dashboard. You will delete the network on the command line before moving to the dashboard, note that the external network will need to be deleted by admin.

Scenarios

You are the OpenStack Administrator at the Acme Company.
- You have been tasked with creating a new external shared network named acme-ext, type flat and using the default physical network in a new project named corporate and make demo a member of the project.
- You will create a project network in corporate as demo named acme-int and you will attach a subnet to the network named acme-int-subnet on the 192.168.1.0/24 range with name server 8.8.8.8 and allocation pool between 192.168.1.50 and 192.168.1.100 and gateway 192.168.1.1. And finally you will attach it to the acme-ext network using a router named acme-rtr.
