Objectives

Create new security groups with a rules to allow SSH.

Overview

In this lab, you will be creating new security groups on the command line and in the dashboard which will have a rule to allow SSH.

Lab Connection Information - UPDATED

How to Access Root:
Start Lab and connect via SSH using the generated credentials, then run sudo -i to login as root.

HORIZON LOGIN URL:
http://[IP Address]
Start lab, then access by copying SSH IP into new browser window

DEMO TENANT:
Username: demo
Password: openstack

CLOUD ADMIN:
Username: admin
Password: openstack

Scenarios

You are the OpenStack administrator at the Acme Company.
—You have been tasked with creating a new security group named openstacksg in the demo project on the command line with a rule to allow ssh.
—You have been tasked with creating a new security group named novasg with the description “security group with nova” in the demo project on the command line with a rule to allow ssh.
—You have been tasked with creating a new security group named dashsg in the demo project in the dashboard with a rule to allow ssh.
