DNS and DNS catching Server

I am taking the Linux Essentials Course and just reached the part where we create and configure a DNS caching server, is this server the same as a DNS server?

A DNS caching server is a type of DNS server, and is not authoritative in its responses, but it can sure speed things up for repeated name lookups!  Let me know if you need any other information.  Have a great day!
