Can't use 'apt' to install 'zip'.

Hi, I failed using apt command to install 'zip' in the cloud playground I created. Any one can help?

[cloud_user@myserver~]$ zip test.zip test

-bash: zip: command not found

[cloud_user@myserver ~]$ sudo apt install zip

[sudo] password for cloud_user:

sudo: apt: command not found

What distrubution of Linux are you running?  You may need to be using yum instead:

    sudo yum install zip

Hi Stosh, Bingo! I get it done finally using your given command. I don't know what distrubution of Linux I'm using since I created it from cloud playground provided by Linux Academy. Any suggestion on how I can check the version? Thanks a lot!

Hi Stosh, Oh! I check inside the server of the playground created, there is a discription saying the 'distribution' is 'Linux Essentials'. Is that what you're asking?

Hi bro, if you use Debian or Ubuntu, please use the following command:

    sudo apt-get install zip
(update first is better: sudo apt-get update)
other situation, you use Redhat or Centos:
    sudo yum install zip

Hi Alex, thanks! 'sudo apt-get update' didn't work (apt-get : command not found), so I guess the server is either Redhat or Centos as you have said. Thanks anyway!
