No installation candidate for dbus

I am going through the course "Mastering Systemd". On the very last lab,  Learning Activity: Creating a Systemd Compatible Debian Container, I have been able to successfully run all the commands needed(that are in the solution video) right up until I need to install dbus on the container, which is when apt says

"No installation candidate for dbus"

I at first did not pay any attention to this and went on in the learning activity, but then I noticed after failing several times that that is the one command that I did not run and now I cannot login with machinectl.   What should I do?

You can delete the container using 'machinectl remove [container name]' and try the install again.

As for the dbus install, try the following:
    apt-get update
    apt-cache search dbus

And you should be able to install dbus with:
    apt-get install dbus

Thanks, I thought that I had done an apt-get update but I guess not because it is working now. Thanks!

You're welcome!  Glad you got it working!
