Introduction to EC2 - Configuring an EC2 Web Hosting Instance

We deploy the real environment, you take the scenario-based labs on us. Hands-on, from anywhere, at any time.

Time required: 1 Hours

Overview

In this lab, we are going to learn the basics of creating and connecting to an EC2 instance. We will be setting up a LAMP web hosting server for our customer: We will create an EC2 instance, connect to it, and install software. Route53 will host the domain name that points to our customer's website. Domain names and all resources needed for this lab are already available.

Scenarios

You run a small web hosting company and have a customer that needs their EC2 instance for hosting websites. This particular application does not require any high availability, so a single instance with Apache software installed is all that is required. You will also need to host the users domain name and point it to the EC2 instance using Route53.
